Study Abroad How-To's This student presenter, Callin Ball, successfully applied for outside funding (Freeman-Asia Scholarship) to study abroad in Japan at Kansai Gaidai. This occasion will provide a wonderful opportunity to get a student's perspective on all aspects of study abroad, from choosing a program, applications to programs, applications for outside funding, to the various experiences of living and studying abroad.

30 The North America Conference on Chinese Linguistics (NACCL)
The North America Conference on Chinese Linguistics (NACCL) returns to Columbus, Ohio, for its 20th anniversary. NACCL-20 will be held on 25-27 April 2008 at The Ohio State University, the birthplace of NACCL! Chair of the NACCL-20 Organizing Committee is Professor Marjorie Chan. Deadline for abstract submission is 30 November 2007. Please visit the NACCL-20 Web site.

Three upcoming events will feature Mr. Ben Judd, who has made a career out of playing video games. After earning a B.A. in Japanese in 1998 from OSU's Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, Mr. Judd moved to Japan where he taught English to school children in Suzuka and Toyama. In 2002, he joined CAPCOM Entertainment Incorporated, which creates, publishes and distributes interactive entertainment world-wide and has operations in the U.S., Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Originally a manufacturer of game machines, CAPCOM is a leader in the video game industry and creates products such as Playstation 2, Xbox, and Game Cube for gamers of all ages. Mr. Judd is currently head of CAPCOM's Localization Division.
