Undergraduate or continuing education students may opt to take this course for pass (PA)/non-Pass (NP) grading.Classroom: Mendenhall Lab 131 (unless otherwise announced)
Class hours: 10:30-11:20 am (unless otherwise announced)

Prerequisite:

    High-level competency in the target East Asian language (Japanese or Chinese), and permission of instructors. Ability to handle English at graduate level is assumed.
Objectives:
    The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge base necessary to plan and implement an effective course of instruction in Chinese/Japanese.
Requirements and Grading:
    Course grades will be determined on the basis of the following:
Level and quality of participation in daily discussion sections (approximately 30%)
Examinations and quizzes (approximately 30%)
Homework and projects (approximately 40%)
