Symposium: China and the Jews in the Modern Era

DEALL is a proud co-sponsor of this one-day, interdisciplinary symposium that features a distinguished international group of scholars. It will explore various aspects of the relationship between Jews and China in modernity. Five national and international invited speakers will be presenting at the symposium:
 1. Moshe Bernstein (University of Western Australia, Australia),
 2. Bei Gao (University of North Carolina Wilmington),
 3. Jonathan Goldstein (University of West Georgia),
 4. Rabbi Anson Laytner (Seattle University)
 5. Noam Urbach (Bar-Ilan University, Israel),
In addition, there will be presentations by graduate students and our OSU librarians on Libraries' collection of relevant books and other resources on Jewish studies and on the Jews in China.
 

DEALL's student organization, the Graduate Students of East Asian Languages and Literatures (GREALL), is also an active co-sponsor, in contributing both manpower and funds (through the Council on Student Affairs) to the event.
