Asian Voices, Perspectives, and Stories Across Time and Place
The Council on Teaching About Asia (CTA) is a multi-council committee of Association for Asian Studies (AAS), which serves to further the understanding of Asia by improving the teaching of Asian studies at the elementary, secondary and undergraduate levels. CTA membership is open to members of AAS. The CTA annually awards the Franklin Buchanan Prize, which honors outstanding curriculum publication on Asia targeting any educational level, elementary through university. Prior to each AAS annual meeting, CTA sponsors a “CTA Day,” where its members are introduced to Asia-related teaching resources in the host city. This year, CTA has partnered with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada and will explore Asian voices, perspectives, and stories across time and place through speakers, activities, and resources. More details will be sent to registrants closer to CTA Day. Cost of $20 helps offset lunch and other expenses.

- 12:30 - 1:45 p.m.: Incorporating People and Perspectives through Visual Culture
- 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.: People, Perspectives, and their Stories: Virtual Japan Experience
- 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.: Annual CTA Business Meeting (optional)
