Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. Global Professional Service (GPS) Corps

Qingdao Center building, home of the GPS Corps.The Global Professional Service (GPS) Corps places advanced non-native speakers of Chinese in Chinese organizations for full-time project-driven domain-specific internships lasting 3-12 months.

Participants learn how to make themselves valued contributors to a Chinese operation in the participant’s field of knowledge.

Tenwen Law Offices; Ries, Chuang & Wong Branding Strategies; CCTV; Hunan Television; China Investment & Trade Commission; Guizhou World Bank Cultural Heritage Preservation Project
 
Applicants must have:
• Existing Chinese proficiency
• An identified area of specialization or domain
 
Because interns are doing real work, all internship hosts provide some form of compensation. Depending on the host, this ranges from free housing to a full-time salary.
 
The 2011 program fee of $5,500 includes visa arrangement, a 2-week pre-internship workshop, workshop housing, internship placement and supervision, and internship verification for home institution credit transfer.
