The 443rd Commencement this summer was held at the Schottenstein Center on Sunday, 9 August 2026. It was packed with over 1,000 graduates and their family and friends. A total of 1,919 degrees and certificates were awarded that afternoon! 

 

Among the graduates in attendance was our DEALL Ph.D. Student, Dr. Ka Fai (Gary) Law, who was hooded by his advisor, Professor Marjorie Chan.

Gary's dissertation is entitled, Perception and Production of Sentence-Final Particles by Cantonese Speakers from Diverse Backgrounds in the United States. His committee members were Marjorie K.M. Chan (advisor), Mineharu Nakayama (DEALL), and Kathryn Campbell-Kibler (Linguistics).
