On Monday, October 12th, Oshaberikai - The Japanese Conversation Club & the Japanese program hosted its first professionalization workshop of the semester, focusing on working as an English teacher in Japan.

DEALL PhD student Joseph Santiago, an alumnus of the JET Program, gave a presentation on his experience working in Japan, as well as led a discussion with attendees which included topics such as what skills you can gain working as an English teacher in Japan and how this job can serve as a springboard to jobs outside of teaching. Thank you to all who attended!

Oshaberikai will be holding its second professionalization workshop on November 30th, where Mitsuhashi-sensei will present on how to find a job in Japan. You will learn the fundamentals of the Japanese job market, the job-finding process, the interview process, and information on Visa status, etc. We hope to see many of you there!
