DEALL Students particpate in the 7th Midwest Korean Speech Contest

DEALL undergraduate students participated in and received awards at the 7th Midwest Korean Speech Contest, held at the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

Fourteen universities from across the Midwest took part in the event. Three OSU representatives (Briana Quran, Rithwik Lengade, and Hala Sanhaji) competed across the three competition levels. 

Briana Quran received the Highest Standing Award in the Beginning Level competition, and Hala Sanhaji received an Excellence Award in the Advanced Level competition. 

Immediately following the speech contest, a Quiz on Korea (testing students’ knowledge of Korean culture) was held. OSU students performed strongly, with Hala Sanhaji winning 1st place and Rithwik Lengade earning 2nd place.
