Students join DEALL for Chinese Language Conversation Tables

The first two Chinese language tables of the semester were held Tuesdays, September 22nd and September 29th. This semester’s theme is festivals, and the first two events highlighted two traditional Chinese festivals: the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Double Ninth Festival.

At the first event, students learned about the traditions and significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival and then enjoyed delicious homemade mooncakes. At the second event, after a short introduction to Double Nine festival, students and teachers used Chinese to chat in small groups about anything and everything they could! The merits of German, the geography of Ohio, whether NY or OH is prettier in fall....

Projected language-learning slide showing a full moon, a mooncake, and text explaining that both are round.
Delicious mooncakes are common at Chinese festivals.
