Korean 2231

This course is designed to introduce students to the country of Korea and its dynamic cultural history through a cross-temporal and interdisciplinary approach. Various aspects of Korean culture will be examined and discussed through a broad survey that spans from premodern to contemporary popular culture, including K-pop, K-drama, webtoons, and e-sports. The aim is to provide students with a foundation for understanding the common cultural forms, identity, and foundations of today’s Korea.
