Abby Richard, a Spring 2021 graduate in History and Communications, has been accepted into the MA program at Miami University in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Abby was a participant in the 2019 Global May China education abroad program to Southwest Minzu University in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. Each OSU student was paired with a cultural partner and engaged in classroom, fieldtrip, and service learning related to the study of ethnicity and the environment. Abby says of the program, “it was the best month of my life” and motivated her to take more classes about unique cultures. She says the trip is also the reason why she wants to work in a university setting and engage with students from different backgrounds.

Abby hopes to work or teach at a university in the future and cannot wait to visit China again soon
