Five students in DEALL were selected as finalists and presented their speeches at the 2020 Ohio Japanese Speech Contest held online on April 5, 2020.

In the Advanced category, Isaac Bennett (Japanese 5103.51) won First Place, and Chuling Peng (Japanese 5104.51) won Second Place.

In the College category, Hannah Lee (Japanese 2102.01) won Second Place, and Alex Gunnerson (Japanese 5102.01) won Third Place.

The Ohio Japanese Speech Contest is hosted annually by the Japan-America Society of Central Ohio (JASCO), and the winners of the contest receive prizes that encourage pursuing and continuing Japanese language study. For more information, visit https://jas-co.org/SpeechContest.
