Bamo Anyu Accepted at SOAS, London

Bamo Anyu graduating from Southwest Minzu University in 2020

Bamo Anyu has been accepted as a graduate student at SOAS, University of London and will begin classes in September, 2021.  SOAS is one of the most prestigious think tanks on Asia anywhere and acceptance is highly competitive. Anyu was a participant in the 2019 China Global May education abroad program held between Southwest Minzu University in Chengdu, Sichuan, and the Office of International Education at The Ohio State University.  Anyu attributes part of her success to participation in the unique cultural exchange program.  For nine years the program has allowed OSU students from various majors to spend one month of cultural exchange with students from SMU -- one of the largest ethnic minority universities in China.  Anyu is of the Yi (Nuosu) ethnic minority group and is one of a small, but growing number of Yi studying abroad.  We congratulate Anyu on her accomplishment.
