Brandon Schindewolf, a 2011 graduate of OSU in Japanese, showed off his knowledge of Japanese warrior, Oda Nobunaga on a nationally televised Japanese quiz show, 'Like! JAPAN Nippon Maniacs Championship' (Ii ne! JAPAN Nippon Dai-suki Gaikokuzin No.1 Kessyoo-sen). He beat the other three contestants from the US and Austraria in the Oda Nobunaga section of the show, seen toward the end of the following link, 78-minutes 25 seconds into it. The 2-hour TV show also featured Japanese song maniacs and fans of AKB 48.
While at OSU, Schindewolf, under the guidance of his advisor, Professor Shelley F. Quinn, wrote his senior honors thesis about Akechi Mitsuhide, who was responsible for the death of Oda Nobunaga in  1582.
