Synopsis: This workshop for graduate students in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures will introduce basic information about preparing academic job applications. In the first part of the workshop, Prof. Etsuyo Yuasa, DEALL Graduate Studies Director, will give an overview of how to prepare job application materials. The topics include: where to find information, what to prepare, when to start, and who to work with. In the second part of the workshop, Dr. Laura Struve, Instructional Development Specialist at the Michael V. Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning, will discuss how to develop Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) statements and facilitate interactive activities for further reflection on your own commitment to DEIJ and workshop ideas together to improve statement components. Resources available at OSU will also be shared.
