Lindsey Stirek, Ph.D. student in Japanese literature, has been awarded the 2019 ENGIE-Axium Scholarship Award by The Graduate School.  This $5000 scholarship award is in acknowledgement of commitment to work related to energy efficiency and sustainability, and was granted for Lindsey’s current research applying eco-criticism to the classical Japanese poetry anthology Hyakunin isshu and its modern day adaptations as a humanistic approach to encouraging environmental awareness.
