OSU student organization hosts regional conference on Taiwanese American culture

OSU's Taiwanese American Student Association (TASA) is hosting this year's Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association's (ITASA) Midwest regional conference: the 2013 ITASA Midwest Conference. The conference will run April 11-12 on OSU’s Columbus campus. The theme of this year’s conference is "Taiwan Taking Root?" More information about the conference can be found on its official website. In addition, DEALL professor Marjorie Chan will do a 50-minute workshop on Chinese Opera at the conference. According to Professor Chan, the workshop will “go with the emphasis on hands-on interactivity for the attendees.”

According to their website, TASA is a student-run cultural group on OSU campus that promotes the learning and sharing of every aspect of Taiwanese American culture. The organization’s weekly events are centered around bringing people of various backgrounds together and celebrating and exploring various aspects of the Taiwanese American culture.
