Tim Thurston (DEALL PhD, 2015) of University of Leeds, has won a prestigious UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship from UK Research and Innovation in the United kingdom.  Thurston will lead a four- year project entitled the Tibetan Sustainable Heritage initiative, which forwards cultural sustainability by working collaboratively with communities to document, transmit, and revitalize threatened cultures and knowledge systems. Leading an international team of collaborators, Thurston will conduct the first large-scale investigation of cultural sustainability in the PRC.  Thurston hopes to develop new methods of collaboration with indigenous and minoritized cultures to support living futures around the globe.
