"Written Cantonese: Spelling Strategies and Orthographic Variants"
On Friday evening of 27 January 2023, DEALL faculty member Professor Marjorie Chan gave a Zoom lecture on "Written Cantonese: Spelling Strategies and Orthographic Variants" to very intrigued members of the Cantonese Alliance, an organization founded by Dr. Sik Lee Dennig, a retired Stanford University faculty member who had taught Cantonese there. Professor Chan gave a half-hour lecture and, without skipping a beat, followed that with responses in PowerPoint to 23 pre-submitted questions from online registrants.
