Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Hyun Jin Lee-Miller earned her doctoral degree in Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Education from The Ohio State University and is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the same institution, where she has been part of the Korean language program since 2012. She has taught the full range of the university’s Korean language curriculum—from introductory Level One (Korean 1101, 1102) and intermediate Level Two (Korean 1103, 2102) to advanced Level Three (Korean 4101, 4102) and Level Four (Korean 5101, 5102). In addition to the regular classroom curriculum, she coordinates and teaches the Korean Individualized Instruction (II) program, developing instructional materials to support students’ independent learning. With an extensive career as a Korean language educator, she has taught learners across diverse proficiency levels and age groups—from heritage learners in early education to college students and non-heritage learners studying Korean as a foreign language in summer programs such as Sup sogui Hosu at Concordia Language Villages.

Building on her teaching experience, she has been actively involved in numerous language pedagogy conferences, workshops, and professional talks, where she frequently presents on Korean language teaching and learning. Her academic interests include the development of effective and engaging learning materials, innovative teaching methods, and learner-centered instructional practices.
