Kaiwen Lin is a Ph.D. candidate at Ocean University of China, specializing in the narratology of Chinese folklore. During her master’s studies, she focused on Chinese witty character stories, while her doctoral research centers on Chinese maritime folklore. Drawing on a solid foundation in narratological theory, she examines the historical and cultural contexts behind these stories and explores their cultural, economic, and ecological significance. In addition, Kaiwen is interested in the transmission strategies of traditional handicrafts in the context of intangible cultural heritage.
